Solid oak is a natural material: colour and grain change over time and small harmless cracks along the grain can appear.
Wipe the wood with a firmly wrung-out cloth; use a wood cleaner for stubborn stains.
Sand rough spots lightly with fine sandpaper (never steel wool), always along the grain.
Keep away from strong heat sources such as radiators and stoves.
White oiled oak: treat regularly with white-pigmented furniture oil.
Natural oiled oak: treat regularly with clear or natural furniture oil.
