Use a sheet to help protect the mattress and keep it looking neat.
Turn and rotate the futon regularly so it keeps its shape, airs well and wears evenly — turn it 180°, swapping the head and foot ends, roughly every 3 to 4 weeks.
Vacuum the surface to lift dust. For stains, dab gently with a slightly damp, colourless cloth and a little clear washing-up liquid, then lift any excess moisture with a dry cloth or paper towel.
