  • Abaca is a banana species that provides a fiber, the manila hemp. Usually Abaca is processed into rope. When the fibers become dry, they also get a lot stronger which means you can twist them into ropes. It is known to be a very strong fiber and is resistant to water. This specific species is sustainably harvested for many things including furniture.
