FÅRÖ 3-Seater Modular Sofa

A complete sofa: 2 corner pieces + 1 lounge chair module. 7% less than buying the modules separately. Delivery is included in the price.

The design

Fårö is a modular outdoor sofa by Studio Joa Herrenknecht, new to the Skargaarden collection. It is inspired by the stone formations of the Swedish island of Fårö: gently rounded cushions and small oval details give it a soft, sculptural calm.

Line up lounge chairs for a straight sofa, add corner pieces to turn it into an L, or finish one end with the chaise lounge. A support pillow in brown Agora Life Omomi Starfish is included with each lounge chair, chaise lounge and corner.

Materials

The frame is powder-coated aluminium in light grey. The cushions, included, are covered in beige Agora Life Omomi Oat outdoor fabric, with a brown Agora Life Omomi Starfish support pillow.

Powder-coated aluminium

Aluminium is light yet rigid, and it does not rust, which makes it ideal for outdoor furniture. Skargaarden frames are chemically pre-treated, then coated with a powder that is applied electrostatically and baked on. The result is a hard-wearing, scratch-resistant polyester finish with built-in UV resistance that protects the metal even further.

• Clean with clear water and a little liquid detergent.
• Use a soft brush to lift dirt from the surface texture if needed.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which can damage the coating.

Outdoor fabrics

Skargaarden's outdoor fabrics are made for life outside and are guaranteed for at least 5 years against fading in sunlight. Fabrics woven with recycled fibres can vary slightly in colour.

• Brush off dirt regularly before it works into the fabric, and deal with spills straight away.
• Blot liquid spills with a clean, dry cloth; do not rub. For oily spills, sprinkle on corn starch to absorb it, then scrape it off.
• For stains, spray on a mild soap solution, work it in gently with a sponge or very soft brush, rinse thoroughly and let the fabric air dry.
• The fabrics do not grow mildew themselves, but it can grow on dirt left on them. To remove it, mix about 250 ml bleach and 60 ml mild soap in 4 litres of water, spray over the whole area, leave for 15 minutes, clean with a sponge or soft brush, rinse well and air dry. Treat the whole surface to avoid water rings.

Winter storage

• Store the furniture indoors, or cover it with a breathable cover. A cover that is fully airtight traps moisture and can cause mould.
• Leave a small gap between the cover and the ground so air can circulate.
• Store the cushions separately, indoors and out of reach of pests.

Warranty

• 2-year guarantee under EU consumer law, covering manufacturing defects.
• Skargaarden outdoor fabrics carry a minimum 5-year warranty against fading from sunlight.
