BALDER builds on the ASLAK sofa bed and adds solid oak arm rests for a warm, Scandinavian look. The seat and back are one undivided mattress on a matt black steel frame: sit upright or relaxed, or fold it flat into a 140 x 200 cm double bed with four steps of head elevation. A bedding box sits under the mattress, and every part can be replaced.

This is a design-it-yourself sofa bed: you choose the frame, the cover style, the mattress and the fabric, and it is made up for you.

Arm rests and legs

Solid lacquered oak arm rests and legs on a matt black steel frame.

Cover

The mattress comes in a fitted Nordic cover: smooth and softly rounded, with neat stitching at each corner. The cover zips off for washing, and you can change the look later by buying just a new cover.

Mattress

Choose your comfort:

Classic (firm): recycled high-density foam that gives strong, even support and keeps movement from one sleeper reaching the other.
Latex (medium): breathable latex that moulds to your body and springs back straight away.
Spring (soft): pocket springs wrapped in layers of fibre for soft comfort, pressure relief and good airflow at night.
Soft Spring (extra soft): pocket springs with a built-in topper of very soft foam for a sink-in, hotel-bed feel.

Care guide

Vacuum the upholstery regularly with a soft brush nozzle to remove dust.
Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth. For stains, dab gently with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry with a clean, undyed cloth. Do not rub or soak the fabric.
Keep out of strong direct sunlight to protect the colour of the fabric.
Oak arm rests and legs: wipe with a lightly damp cloth and dry straight away. Steel frame: wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
